An Innocent Man Executed??

That may very well be the case, as last night Troy Davis was executed via lethal injection.

There is pretty strong evidence pointing to the man’s innocence.  At the very least, enough to create reasonable doubt.  Yet the state of Georgia went ahead anyway.

In his last words, Mr. Davis said “I ask my family and friends to continue to fight this fight.”  This fight goes well beyond the Troy Davis case.

I’d urge anyone who cares about wrongful convictions and executions to donate to the Innocence Project.  They’ve done a heroic job exposing the flaws, injustices, and sometimes outright corruption in our criminal justice system.  They’ve won freedom for countless individuals wrongfully jailed.  Mr. Davis was right-this fight must continue.
