Free Speech For Me, But Not For Thee*

Funny how left-wingers are supposedly strident defenders of the 1st Amendment…..except when it means extending those same rights to opponents.

Sheldon Richman chronicles the latest hypocrisy on his blog, regarding the left’s attack on Glenn Beck

I’m not a fan of Beck’s, nor am I likely to attend any “tea party” protests. But whether or not I personally agree with the views of protesters is irrelevant. Noisy, abrasive political speech is the epitome of free speech, because it holds the ruling class accountable for their actions. Trying to censor dissent shows just how little regard the left really has for civil liberties.

My previous views on talk radio and free speech here.

Beck is not just a liar and a hypocrite. I caught him with his pants down. See The Glenn Beck Review for details.
